CLERK’S BIOGRAPHY

Cindy Mason was first elected as Columbia County’s Clerk of Superior Court in 2000 and was re-elected in 2024 for her sixth term. She began her career in 1976 as a deputy clerk in Richmond County under Clerk Helen Spelz, gaining experience in every department during her ten years there. In 1986, Cindy left Richmond County to establish her own court reporting firm, which she successfully operated until her election as Clerk of Superior Court for Columbia County.

Throughout her career, Cindy has held several leadership positions at the state level, including serving as President of the Council of Superior Court Clerks and as Secretary/Treasurer of the Georgia Clerk’s Authority.

Cindy is a certified clerk through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, a credential that reflects her extensive knowledge of court operations.

She also serves as a member of the Judicial Council of Georgia’s Technology Committee.
