· Historic Appling Courthouse: The Appling Courthouse, built in 1812 and extensively remodeled in 1856, is the oldest courthouse in Georgia still in use. It underwent further renovations in the late 1970s. Court sessions continue to be held at this historic location.
· Superior Court: The Superior Court, established under the 1798 Constitution, is the highest court in each circuit. It is a court of record, meaning all records, documents, and minutes filed in this office are permanent and cannot be altered after filing.
· Clerk of Superior Court: The Clerk of Superior Court is an elected official and a constitutional officer of the court. The Clerk’s Office plays a vital role in supporting the judicial system at all levels.
